Position Title: Sales Manager - Building Industry

Department: Sales

Location: Remote - Midwest United States

The Opportunity

Direct the actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer. Coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals and establish training programs for sales representatives. Analyze the sales statistics gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations and oversee their daily activities

  • Determine price schedules and discount rates

  • Review operational records and reports on project sales and determine profitability

  • Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures

  • Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of manufactured products, services, or other subjects of sale

  • Confer with potential customers regarding product needs and advise customers on types of products to purchase.

  • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products

  • Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives, and customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products and services

  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (two-year college or technical school)

  • 5+ years related experience within the building industry.

  • An accomplished product leader with expertise in quoting, order fulfillment, and delivery

  • Ability to achieve company directed KPIs as they relate to quoting and order fulfillment, performance, including turnaround time (service), productivity, and quality

  • Experience defining fulfillment and product metrics, using them to drive decisions

  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Previous experience in capturing metrics and producing various reports

  • Ability to use and train employees on quoting and fulfillment platform

  • Must have the ability to forecast and manage workloads, including prioritizing orders as needed

  • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with shipping practices and providers

  • Valid driver’s license and passport for travel required

  • Ability to travel domestically approximately 15% of the time
