Description

Hotel Sales Manager – Hospitality Sales & Business Development

Cambria Hotel – Rock Hill, SC$25–$29 per hour | Full-TimeHotel Sales | Outside Sales | Business Development | Group & Event Sales

Job Summary

Are you a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys meeting people, developing new business, and seeing the direct results of your work? Are you interested in building a career in hotel sales, hospitality, events, or business development?

The Cambria Hotel at University Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina is looking for a motivated Hotel Sales Manager who is ready to grow.

Located near Winthrop University and within walking distance of the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center, our upscale hotel gives you much more to sell than guestrooms. The property includes a restaurant, rooftop bar, meeting and event space, group accommodations, and special-event opportunities.

This is a hands-on sales position for someone who wants to get out into the community, build relationships, bring new customers to the hotel, and grow their hospitality sales career. You will develop business with local companies, sports teams and organizations, university contacts, event planners, community organizations, and other groups traveling to the Rock Hill area.

Previous hotel sales experience is valuable, but we are also interested in up-and-coming sales professionals with strong relationship-building skills, energy, initiative, and an interest in hospitality.

What You'll Do Hotel Sales & Business Development

Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities for guestrooms, corporate travel, sports teams, group blocks, meetings, events, restaurant business, and other Food & Beverage opportunities.

Build relationships with local businesses, sports organizations, teams, Winthrop University contacts, event planners, community organizations, and other potential customers.

Conduct outside sales calls, client meetings, networking activities, hotel tours, and follow-up activities designed to generate new accounts and booked business.

Respond to incoming hotel sales leads, qualify opportunities, prepare proposals, negotiate rates within established guidelines, and work to convert leads into booked business.

Develop business associated with the hotel's proximity to Winthrop University, the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center, University Center, and other Rock Hill-area demand generators.

Sell the entire hotel experience, including guestrooms, group accommodations, meeting and event space, restaurant offerings, and the rooftop bar.

Account Management & Customer Relationships

Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts through regular communication, follow-up, and personal interaction.

Grow existing accounts by identifying additional travel, meeting, group, event, and Food & Beverage opportunities.

Provide responsive, professional service throughout the sales process and work with hotel operations to ensure customer expectations are effectively communicated.

Maintain accurate records of sales activities, prospects, accounts, leads, and bookings using the hotel's sales and CRM systems.

Sales Strategy & Performance

Partner with the Director of Sales and/or General Manager to execute sales strategies designed to increase hotel occupancy, group production, events, Food & Beverage business, and overall revenue.

Maintain an active pipeline of prospective customers and consistently follow up on opportunities throughout the sales cycle.

Monitor local businesses, competitors, university activities, sporting events, community events, and other market activity to identify potential business.

Track sales activity, account production, leads, bookings, and other established sales performance measures.

Community & Market Development

Be a visible representative of the hotel throughout the Rock Hill community.

Participate in appropriate networking events, business organizations, community activities, university events, sports-related activities, and industry functions.

Develop relationships and partnerships that increase awareness of the Cambria Hotel and position the property as a preferred destination for hotel accommodations, sports groups, corporate travel, meetings, events, dining, and group business.

Explore creative ways to promote the hotel, restaurant, rooftop bar, and meeting facilities through local partnerships, community relationships, social media, and other sales opportunities.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is motivated by building relationships and winning new business. You don't need to have spent your entire career in hotel sales to be successful here.

You may be a great fit if you have experience in sales, outside sales, business development, account management, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, event sales, catering sales, sports sales, tourism, or customer relationship management and want to take the next step in your career.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Confidence meeting new people and developing professional relationships.

  • The initiative to prospect for new customers rather than waiting for leads to come in.

  • Strong follow-up and organizational skills.

  • An interest in hotels, hospitality, travel, sports, events, or tourism.

  • The ability to independently manage accounts, leads, appointments, and priorities.

  • Comfort making outside sales calls and representing the hotel in the community.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn hotel sales and CRM systems.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

Previous hotel sales, hospitality sales, outside sales, business development, account management, group sales, catering sales, or event sales experience is preferred but not required for a candidate with strong sales potential.

Why This Is a Great Hospitality Sales Opportunity

This isn't a position where you spend the entire day sitting behind a desk waiting for the phone to ring.

You'll have the opportunity to get into the community, develop your own relationships, pursue new accounts, work with sports and university business, sell events and group accommodations, and see the business you develop actually arrive at the hotel.

You'll also gain exposure to multiple areas of hospitality sales—including corporate accounts, sports groups, university business, group travel, meetings, events, restaurant business, and Food & Beverage sales—making this an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to continue growing in hotel sales and hospitality management.
