Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, MD.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support a rapidly developing team of new features, newly production system, deploy updates, maintain multiple services, and monitor system health.

  • Responsibilities include monitoring, maintaining, deploying, upgrading, CI/CD management, and maintaining security requirements for all the systems on a cloud-based architecture.

  • Contribute to architecture and design reviews, and assist in shaping technical approaches

  • Interface with developers across the team for pipeline updates, deployment dates and requirements, and technical execution.

Qualifications

Eight (8) or more years of directly related experience in software development/engineering; including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution

  • Shall have at least 8 years of experience in software engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, and problem diagnosis/resolution.

  • Shall have at least 4 years of experience with Java

  • Shall have at least 3 years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.

A bachelor's degree in computer science or in a related technical field from an accredited college or university is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience.

  • NOTE: A degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph clearance is required.

Must have, or be willing to obtain prior to start, one of the following Cloud Developer Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Developer-Associate

  • AWS Certified Machine Learning-Associate

  • AWS Certified Machine Learning-Specialty

  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional

  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Requirements:

  • DevOps engineer for an AWS software stack

  • Experience with AWS

  • Grafana

  • Linux

  • Nagios

  • Git, Gitlab runners

  • CI/CD pipelines

  • Docker

  • Security best practices

  • System redundancy and reliability best practices

Desired

  • Kubernetes

  • Apache Flink

  • Experience in an Agile team

Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
