Description
Essential Job Functions
-
Monitors the status of shipments from pickup through delivery
-
Enters shipment location, date and time into Dispatch system
-
Contacts carriers and drivers via phone, email or internet to determine driver location
-
Escalates potential or existing service failures to Dispatch, Operations Management and Client
-
Works closely with Dispatch, Account Mangers, Account Executives and Operations to ensure service level expectations are achieved and clients are informed of shipment status
-
Secures shipment and carrier documentation (bills of lading, PODs, etc.)
-
Other duties as assigned
Other Skills & Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong understanding of US Geography

Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
-
Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Works well in a team environment
Physical Requirements

Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
-
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED/Bachelor’s degree preferred
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
