Your Responsibilities

The Engineering Development Program (EDP) in Factory Engineering provides entry-level engineers an opportunity to gather experiences and exposures throughout John Deere. It provides rotational opportunities to develop an understanding of John Deere's products and services and establish a network of people to support personal and professional growth. The program gives recent engineering graduates three experiences over a two year period. The eight-month rotations include assignments in areas like assembly, automation programming, robotics and tooling— all possible at John Deere locations in the Midwest.

What Skills You Need

  • Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.

  • Carry out a range of product development and factory engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.

  • Contribute information to business cases to quantify current costs, justify project investment, and identify the return on investment.

  • Contribute to and support feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective, and document findings.

  • Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.

  • Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.

  • Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.

  • Work within established procedures to achieve specified goals.

Education

  • Currently pursuing or recent college graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 through August 2027

  • Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
