Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, comprehensive patient care through assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, pain management, patient positioning, fall/injury prevention, skin care, and recognition of patient deterioration.

  • Demonstrates strong clinical and technical skills, including IV and central line management, blood specimen collection, urinary and NG catheter care, tracheostomy care, point-of-care testing, medication administration, and use of surgical/post-operative equipment.

  • Ensures patient safety and regulatory compliance by following infection-control and standard precautions, medication and patient identification protocols, informed consent requirements, advance directives, confidentiality, National Patient Safety Goals, and organizational policies.

  • Advocates for and educates patients and families, providing individualized education, emotional support, culturally responsive care, and opportunities for informed decision-making throughout the surgical experience.

  • Collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary team through accurate SBAR handoffs, delegation and supervision, care coordination, timely documentation, change-of-shift/transfer reporting, emergency preparedness, and ongoing professional development.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Evidence of OR education and one (1) year current OR experience, upon hire

  • Registered Nurse: CA RN, upon hire

  • Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS, upon hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support - PALS, upon hire

Preferred

  • Spanish speaking experience

Pay Range

$52.90 - $75.30 /hour
