Full job description
The Developer III is a senior technical contributor within the Information Technology ERP team responsible for architecting, developing, extending, and integrating enterprise solutions across the Oracle platform. This role enables critical Supply Chain and Finance capabilities spanning procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, Product Lifecycle Management, inventory, manufacturing, logistics, and materials planning.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Security, and Enterprise Applications, the IT Developer III translates complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical solutions. The role designs the reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, and workflows that connect Oracle with the broader enterprise application landscape.
As a technical authority, this position leads solution design reviews, resolves the most complex Oracle and cross-system issues, and establishes the development patterns and quality standards used by the team. The IT Developer III also leads technical projects, mentors junior developers, and strengthens documentation, security, data integrity, configuration management, and end-to-end system traceability. Solutions must maximize standard Oracle functionality, remain compatible with future upgrades, and align with enterprise architecture and data-governance standards.
Responsibilities
Technical Architecture and Development
-
Architect complex, scalable, and upgrade-compatible solutions across the Oracle platform.
-
Design, develop, test, and deploy reports, interfaces, conversions, extensions, and workflows using supported Oracle development and extensibility methods.
-
Establish technical design patterns, reusable components, coding standards, and performance practices for the development team.
-
Lead technical design and code reviews, ensuring solutions meet functional, security, performance, documentation, and maintainability requirements.
-
Develop advanced SQL and PL/SQL solutions for data analysis, application processing, integration, reporting, and troubleshooting.
-
Evaluate business requirements and recommend standard Oracle functionality before pursuing customized solutions.
-
Assess cross-module dependencies and design solutions that account for period-sensitive activities, including month-end close, inventory reconciliation, and physical inventory.
Enterprise Integration and Data Integrity
-
Define integration architecture between Oracle and surrounding enterprise systems using middleware, APIs, web services, and file-based interfaces.
-
Lead complex data conversions and migrations, including data validation, reconciliation, verification, backup, recovery, and rollback planning.
-
Maintain complete and auditable documentation for approved data corrections, conversions, and system changes.
-
Serve as the senior escalation point for data-integrity issues across Oracle and its upstream and downstream systems.
-
Protect end-to-end data accuracy, configuration control, and traceability across the enterprise application landscape.
-
Diagnose complex customizations and integrations to determine root cause across the full Oracle ERP technical stack.
Functional and Operational Leadership
-
Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for major business processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, inventory management, manufacturing, and materials planning.
-
Partner with business analysts, functional leads, and stakeholders to evaluate solution alternatives and distinguish business-process issues from system or technical issues.
-
Lead technical validation for Oracle quarterly updates and major releases, identifying dependencies, risks, and business impacts early.
-
Serve as the primary technical escalation point for the most complex Oracle application, integration, and production-support issues.
-
Provide clear, timely, and jargon-free communications during system incidents and other high-impact events.
Project Delivery and Team Development
-
Lead small-to-medium technical projects through scoping, planning, design, execution, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support.
-
Establish clear project deliverables, manage technical risks and dependencies, and provide consistent stakeholder updates.
-
Define and quantify the operational, financial, or user-experience impact of delivered improvements.
-
Mentor developers through structured coaching, technical training, shadowing, code reviews, and individualized development plans.
-
Support the onboarding and technical development of new team members.
-
Establish documentation standards, review team deliverables, and create self-service resources that improve supportability and reduce recurring work.
-
Act as a technical decision-maker for the team when designated leadership is unavailable.
Security, Governance, and Continuous Improvement
-
Embed security, data protection, and access-control requirements throughout the solution-development lifecycle.
-
Review applications and development processes for potential security vulnerabilities and control gaps.
-
Serve as an initial technical responder for security events affecting the Oracle application domain.
-
Partner with Information Security to assess, prioritize, and remediate application vulnerabilities and security incidents.
-
Help shape Oracle environment and instance strategy, including refresh schedules, test-data management, deployment processes, and supporting tools.
-
Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data-governance, change-management, and IT standards.
-
Maintain current knowledge of Oracle capabilities, emerging technologies, security practices, and industry trends.
-
Support additional projects and business initiatives as assigned.

-
Advanced SQL and PL/SQL capabilities, including the ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns and anomalies, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
-
Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root cause across Oracle configurations, customizations, integrations, databases, and connected systems.
-
