Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Senior Assistant Dean works closely with the Associate Dean of Admission and Director of International Recruitment and works in close collaboration to expand Hamilton's global reach, cultivates relationships with international school counselors and educational partners, and identifies and recruits talented students from around the world. This person will also manage a domestic recruitment territory.
The Office of Admission is a team characterized by a culture of collaboration, data-informed decision-making, and shared commitment to enrolling a talented and diverse class. This position joins the team at a pivotal moment as the College deepens its investment in both international recruitment and strategic domestic markets.
Ideal candidates will possess three to five years of experience in college admission, international recruitment, or closely related work and are prepared to serve as a substantive partner in the College's international enrollment strategy, while also managing an assigned domestic recruitment territory.
Review of candidates will begin immediately until the position is filled with an anticipated start date Fall 2026.
Responsibilities:

Partner with the Associate Dean of Admission/Director for International Recruitment to execute Hamilton's international enrollment strategy, including territory planning, and counselor relationship development.

Develop and manage recruitment processes within an assigned domestic recruitment territory.

Represent Hamilton to prospective students, families, and college counseling partners across assigned markets. This includes approximately 2-4 weeks of international travel and 3-6 weeks of domestic U.S. travel per year.

Interview, recruit, and build relationships with prospective students.

Participate in Hamilton's holistic application review process, reading and evaluating admission files with careful attention to context, academic rigor, and student potential.

Support the coordination of international application review, including familiarity with international credentials, academic systems, and English proficiency standards across assigned markets.

Provide recommendations on admission files and applications, in excess of 60 per day during high volume periods.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
-
Three to five years of professional experience in college admission, international student recruitment, secondary school college counseling, or a closely related field required.

Experience working with students, families, and counselors from a wide range of backgrounds, educational systems, and cultural contexts preferred.

Proficiency with CRM platforms; experience with Slate preferred

Current valid driver’s license and valid passport required

Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Strong organizational skills, balancing multiple priorities and ability to meet deadlines

Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and meeting-facilitation skills

Demonstrated cultural awareness and the interpersonal fluency to engage positively with students, families, and counselors from a wide range of backgrounds, educational systems, and cultural contexts.

Demonstrated knowledge with CRM platforms; experience with Slate or ability to develop proficiency quickly.

Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional evening and weekend commitments in support of recruitment events.
Compensation Range:
$68,000 - $72,000
