JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Analyst manages all aspects of quality related to the Texarkana Mill's paperboard products by providing technical guidance, implementing process improvements, analyzing quality and process data, and responding to customer concerns. This position serves as a key resource for quality systems, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and specification management. The Quality Analyst works collaboratively with operations, technical, sales, customer service, and leadership teams to improve product quality, reduce variability, and drive sustainable manufacturing performance through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate and promote safety as a core value while supporting a workplace where no one gets hurt

  • Provide leadership in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process capability, customer satisfaction, and mill performance.

  • Partner with operations and technical teams to identify process gaps, develop corrective actions, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Utilize root cause analysis, statistical methods, and problem-solving tools to investigate quality issues and process deviations

  • Analyze quality, process, and manufacturing data to identify trends, reduce variability, and improve product consistency

  • Coordinate and evaluate manufacturing trials, process changes, and product qualifications

  • Lead or support cost-reduction and process-improvement projects, including potential capital improvement initiatives.

  • Organize and facilitate cross-functional teams to achieve quality and continuous improvement objectives.

  • Develop and maintain expertise in paperboard grades, customer specifications, testing methodologies, and end-use performance requirements.

  • Lead specification management activities and support development of new products, grades, and testing requirements.

  • Investigate customer complaints and product quality concerns, determine root causes, and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Interface directly with customers, Customer Technical Services, Sales, and Operations to address product quality concerns and communicate improvement actions.

  • Provide technical guidance related to board properties, testing methods, visual defects, process capability, and customer expectations.

  • Develop, maintain, and improve quality systems, procedures, and reporting processes.

  • Support compliance with customer requirements, ISO standards, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Safe Quality Food programs.

  • Mentor and train operations personnel on quality standards, continuous improvement tools, and problem-solving methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Paper Science, Chemistry, Industrial Technology, Statistics, Quality Management, or related technical field required.

  • Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing, quality, process engineering, or continuous improvement experience preferred.

  • Experience in paper, paperboard, packaging, converting, or related manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.

  • Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab preferred.

  • Knowledge of quality management systems (i.e. Panther), ISO standards, and customer complaint resolution processes preferred.

Pay Range

$60,100.00 - $80,100.00
