Full job description

Description We are looking for an experienced tax specialist to support corporate tax operations in California. This role contributes to accurate compliance, reliable reporting, and stronger tax processes across income tax, sales tax, and fixed assets. The ideal candidate brings sound technical knowledge, strong analytical ability, and a collaborative approach to working with finance, accounting, and external partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of federal, state, and international income tax filings, along with related calculations, payment support, and detailed documentation.

  • Complete recurring sales and use tax returns and perform reconciliations that confirm balances are accurate, complete, and compliant.

  • Review fixed asset activity on a regular basis, maintain tax-related asset records, and calculate depreciation for reporting and filing purposes.

  • Prepare property tax submissions and perform cost segregation analyses to support appropriate tax treatment of capital assets.

  • Assist with tax audits by organizing support materials, responding to requests, and helping resolve questions from auditors and advisors.

  • Investigate tax calculation discrepancies, address system-related issues, and help improve the consistency of data across tax and finance platforms.

  • Use tax and financial software, including OneSource and related tools, to produce timely filings and support reporting needs.

  • Partner with accounting, finance systems teams, and external specialists to strengthen controls, improve workflows, and enhance tax reporting efficiency. Requirements • At least 3 years of experience in corporate tax, public accounting, or a closely related tax environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent additional experience may also be considered.

  • Hands-on experience with multinational income tax compliance, including federal and state filing requirements.

  • Working knowledge of sales and use tax processes, fixed asset taxation, and tax depreciation concepts.

  • Strong Excel capabilities, including advanced use of formulas and functions for analysis and reconciliation work.

  • Familiarity with tax preparation and financial systems; experience with OneSource, D365, Power BI, TM1, Vertex, or fixed asset software is preferred.

  • CPA designation is preferred.

  • Exposure to ASC 740 and corporate tax provision concepts is a plus.
