Full job description

As an IT Director, Enterprise Applications (HR, Legal, & HSE) here at Solstice, you will be a hands-on senior people leader for the strategy, delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of enterprise applications supporting Human Resources, Legal, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) functions. The role has end-to-end accountability for Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, including Core HR, Talent, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll integrations, security, quarterly release management, and related enterprise services, as well as the broader Legal and HSE application portfolio.

In this role, you will partner closely with HR, Legal, HSE leadership, this role drives secure, compliant, integrated, and scalable solutions that enhance employee experience, reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and deliver measurable business value.

The Director’s impact will lead internal teams and managed service partners while remaining actively engaged in strategic planning, solution design, governance, vendor management, and major transformation initiatives.

You will report directly to our Sr Director, Enterprise Applications, and you will work out of our Morris Plains, NJ location on a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and advance application strategy & business alignment. Own, advance, and ensure execution of the enterprise application vision and roadmap for corporate applications such as HR, legal, and HSE systems, aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and digital priorities. Partner with HR, Legal, Compliance, HSE, and other corporate leaders to translate business needs into technology capabilities. Ensure systems enable efficient, compliant, and data-driven business operations.

  • Be a People-Centered Leader, building an inclusive, engaging, and high-performance team. Lead with empathy and accountability and invest in team development.

  • Own portfolio and application effectiveness. Lead the lifecycle management of corporate applications, including HCM (e.g., Oracle HCM), Legal, Compliance, Risk, EHS, and related platforms. Oversee and ensure ongoing stability of application enhancements, upgrades, integrations, and modernization initiatives. Ensure strong governance for demand intake, prioritization, funding, delivery, and roadmap reviews. Serve as a senior technology owner and escalation point. Rationalize application portfolios to reduce complexity and technical debt.

  • Ensure operational excellence & stability. Accountable for availability, performance, security, experience, and supportability of corporate applications. Establish clear SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics; proactively manage incidents, problems, and technical debt. Explore root cause analysis on any problems and ensure permanent resolution with corrective actions. Partner with IT Operations, Cybersecurity, and Data teams to ensure secure and resilient platforms.

  • Manage vendor & partner relationships, including system integrators, SaaS providers, and managed service partners. Drive accountability for delivery of quality, cost control, and outcomes. Nurture relationships. Lead contract reviews, renewals, and vendor rationalization.

  • Ensure corporate applications to integrate effectively with ERP, data platforms, and downstream systems. Promote standardization, reuse, and architectural discipline. Support analytics, reporting, and regulatory data needs.

  • Be a steward for financial performance and risk management. Own application budgets, forecasts, and cost optimization initiatives. Ensure compliance with SOX, data privacy, and regulatory requirements for in scope applications as well as overall process and policy compliance. Identify and mitigate technology, operational, and vendor risks.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience

  • Proven success implementing, managing, and supporting large-scale SaaS platforms and enterprise applications. including such as HR, Legal, HSE, or other corporate applications with direct ownership of systems and integrations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives through influence and partnering across domains

  • Experience managing external vendors, consultants, and managed service providers

WE VALUE

  • Experience in advanced materials, chemicals, industrial process manufacturing, or engineered products.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience with M&A activities

PAY RANGE

The annual base salary range for this position is $201,063 - 251,622. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
