The Massry School of Business at the University at Albany is an AACSB-accredited school dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, student success, and community engagement. To support its accreditation, assessment, and strategic planning goals, the School seeks an Associate Director of Accreditation & Strategic Planning to coordinate accreditation activities, manage assurance of learning processes, and provide data-driven support for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

The Associate Director of Accreditation & Strategic Planning is responsible for coordinating accreditation activities, managing assurance of learning processes, and supporting strategic planning initiatives that advance the School's academic quality and continuous improvement goals. Working closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, faculty, department chairs, and university partners, the position oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting of data required for accreditation compliance, assessment, rankings, and strategic decision-making. The Associate Director develops reporting tools and dashboards, monitors key performance indicators, and helps ensure that institutional priorities, accreditation standards, and continuous improvement efforts are effectively integrated across the School.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate AACSB accreditation activities, including annual reporting, accreditation record maintenance, preparation of self-study materials, support for peer review visits, and monitoring compliance with AACSB standards.

  • Collect, analyze, and report accreditation-related data supporting AACSB requirements in areas such as strategic management, learner success, societal impact, thought leadership, assurance of learning, faculty qualifications, and teaching effectiveness.

  • Manage faculty qualification processes, including administering qualification surveys, collecting and maintaining faculty curricula vitae, analyzing qualification data, and preparing related accreditation reports.

  • Coordinate assurance of learning (AoL) initiatives by maintaining assessment plans and calendars, communicating assessment requirements, monitoring assessment completion, and supporting faculty in implementing direct and indirect assessment measures.

  • Compile, analyze, and disseminate assessment results, preparing annual AoL reports, dashboards, and other materials that inform curricular review and continuous improvement efforts

  • Monitor and document continuous improvement actions ("closing the loop"), tracking resulting curricular, pedagogical, and programmatic changes and maintaining evidence for accreditation review.

  • Support strategic planning initiatives by collecting, tracking, and analyzing key performance indicators related to research productivity, student success, enrollment, career outcomes, fundraising, and program development.

  • Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations that support evidence-based decision-making by School leadership, faculty governance bodies, advisory boards, and other stakeholders.

  • Coordinate external reporting and benchmarking activities, including submissions for national and international rankings and participation in relevant accreditation and professional development workshops, conferences, and webinars.

  • Foster collaboration across the School and University, serving as a liaison with academic departments, administrative units, and the Office of Institutional Research to support accreditation, assessment, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced academic environment.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty, department chairs, administrators, and external accreditation representatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate competing priorities, and meet established deadlines.

  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and data reporting or dashboard tools.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in higher education, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, assessment, strategic planning, institutional research, or a related area.

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to support organizational decision-making and reporting requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • Experience supporting AACSB accreditation or other specialized/programmatic accreditation processes.

  • Experience with assurance of learning, outcomes assessment, curriculum assessment, or institutional effectiveness initiatives in higher education.

  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.

  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty, academic leadership, and external stakeholders in a shared governance environment.
