Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support the maintenance department at a light-industrial manufacturing facility in West Boylston, MA. This position will assist with general maintenance tasks, equipment preparation, machine changeovers, cleaning, repairs, and material handling throughout the production facility. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, dependable, comfortable working with hand and power tools, and able to work safely in a production environment. Key Responsibilities ~ Assist the maintenance department with daily general maintenance tasks ~ Assist with machine changeovers ~ Change booth filters as needed ~ Clean and maintain mask washers ~ Assemble and disassemble equipment ~ Move 55-gallon drums using appropriate material-handling equipment ~ Rebuild and maintain spray guns ~ Repair and adjust spray fixtures ~ Empty and remove trash according to the weekly schedule ~ Assist with general repairs and maintenance throughout the production floor and prep room ~ Use hand tools and power tools safely and properly ~ Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines ~ Maintain a clean and organized work area ~ Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel and supervisors Qualifications ~ Previous maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial experience preferred ~ Mechanically inclined with an interest in learning maintenance-related skills ~ Experience using hand and power tools preferred ~ Ability to follow written and verbal instructions ~ Good hand dexterity and attention to detail ~ Ability to work independently and as part of a team ~ Dependable and safety-conscious ~ Ability to work in a production environment that may be loud and dusty ~ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. ~ Must be able to wear a dust mask and, when required, a respirator ~ No facial hair that interferes with the proper seal of a required respirator Work Environment ~ Production floor and prep room ~ Production floor may be loud ~ Prep room may be dusty ~ Position involves working throughout different areas of the facility ~ Fast-paced light-industrial manufacturing environment ~ Proper PPE must be worn as required Training / Certifications / Education Requirements ~ High school diploma or equivalent preferred ~ Previous maintenance, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred ~ Experience with hand and power tools is a plus ~ Welding experience is a plus ~ On-the-job training may be provided based on experience and qualifications ~ No specific certification required unless otherwise specified by the employer Why Work With Us As a trusted staffing partner, we connect talented individuals with reputable employers across a variety of industries.
