Full job description

Job Description A vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm with over 115 attorneys seeks an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience to join its expanding Trusts & Estates Department in Lake Success, NY. This is a unique opportunity for an associate who wants to deepen their expertise in estate litigation while gaining exposure to estate planning and administration, all within a supportive and collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Handle estate litigation matters, including contested probate and fiduciary disputes

  • Appear in Surrogate’s Court for motions, hearings, and proceedings

  • Draft motions, petitions, and legal filings for estate matters

  • Assist with estate planning and administration tasks as needed

  • Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, adversaries, and witnesses

  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced practice

  • Participate in developing and maintaining client relationships

  • Opportunity to grow a personal book of business while expanding legal skill sets

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice law in New York

  • 3-5 years of experience in:

  • Estate litigation

  • Surrogate’s Court procedures

  • Estate planning and/or administration (a plus but not required)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude

  • Comfortable engaging with clients, colleagues, and senior management in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook

  • A small book of business is welcomed but not required
