SR. ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT MANAGER (STARBASE DEVELOPMENT) As a member of the Starbase Development team you will lead the delivery of architectural construction projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings that ultimately support the rapid production of Starship and build the Starbase campus as the Gateway to Mars. You will manage projects from conception, construction, completion and closeout while coordinating with stakeholders, engineers and construction project managers across multiple disciplines. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage projects from end-to-end, including design, permitting, procurement, construction and close-out
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between design teams, internal engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, maintenance teams, end users and other project stakeholders
  • Define project requirements and prepare preliminary designs including siting, massing, and programming
  • Produce conceptual 3D renders and visualizations to support project design reviews
  • Own project controls, including schedule and cost; actively drive projects to meet target budgets and timelines
  • Write, negotiate, and manage design and construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
  • Coordinate project designs with responsible engineers for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, network, audio-visual, fire & life safety systems
  • Manage permitting and inspection processes with local jurisdictions and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Manage submittals, requests for information (RFIs), change orders, reviews shop or fabrication drawings, and resolves design and construction conflicts in the field in real time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an architecture, architectural engineering, or other engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of professional experience with architecture and/or engineering of capital projects

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with project management of major ground-up commercial or residential developments, including estimating, cost control, scheduling, and contractor management
  • Experience with city planning or master planning for large campuses or developments
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu and project scheduling software
  • Experience with rendering software (V-Ray, D5, Enscape, or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated and works autonomously and efficiently in a dynamic team environment
  • Licensed architect in the state of Texas or Project Management Professional (PMP)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed, based on site operational needs; flexibility required
  • This position is based in Starbase, TX and requires being onsite – remote work not considered
