Full Time Salary
The Front Door, Troy, NY, US
Salary Range: $66,770.73 To $69,565.00 Annually
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based interventions, deliver culturally responsive and person-centered care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric providers, to support recovery and overall wellness. This role is integral to a comprehensive outpatient behavioral health program that offers therapy and medication management services. The Mental Health Therapist will play a key role in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and the delivery of recovery-oriented, strengths-based care that promotes resilience, healing, and long-term well-being.
Salary posted for fully licensed applicants. Please note: MHC-LP, LMSW, or Limited Permit salary base rate is $59,789.34
Position may be eligible to a sign on bonus
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other therapeutic modalities.

Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care.

Collaborate with psychiatric providers and other members of the treatment team to support integrated care and positive client outcomes.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with billing, regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.

Monitor client progress and update treatment goals and interventions as clinically indicated.

Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and de-escalation support as needed.

Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources.

Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, respect, and client empowerment.

Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field

Licensure preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC (higher salary range for fully licensed candidates)

Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses and therapeutic interventions
-
Experience with evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation

Familiarity with OMH programs and Medicaid billing strongly preferred

Valid NYS Driver License
