For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities. Position Summary: The Supervisor of Diagnostic Imaging Schedulers leads daily scheduling activities across all Diagnostic Imaging modalities. This position will be responsible for overseeing the Diagnostic Imaging Schedulers for both Backus AND Windham Hospital. Lead, development and implementation of all improvement work in support of aligning scheduling with referral source expectations and clinical team capacity. Responsible for optimal reimbursement of imaging procedures by closely partnering with imaging Managers and Supervisors, Compliance, as well as Finance, billing and coding teams. Track all procedures for accuracy of coding. Responsible for steps necessary to determine root cause, write offs, denials of care, charge edits, billing issues, etc in order to resolve and ensure reimbursement. Perform other related duties as needed. Requirements: * Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred. * Experience in healthcare scheduling and billing/coding required * At least 3 years experience health care scheduling and/or billing/coding required, experience in a supervisor capacity preferred * Experience with PACS and digital technology * Knowledge of continuous improvement and project management We take great care of careers.
