Full job description

Your opportunity

Charles Schwab's Digital Retail product team builds key experiences for clients and maintains digital channels for them to build their wealth and manage their financial outcomes. We work, think and approach problems differently than your traditional financial services firm, and we aim to change both how Schwab operates and how the industry serves investors. We collaborate with user experience design, product, client service, operations, and technology teams across the enterprise to build digital products and tools that clients love.

We are looking for a senior, high expectation Product Owner who thrives in a fast-moving environment, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can own outcomes, not just requirements . You will lead Mobile Historical Accounts experiences, including History/Transactions, Gain/Loss and Cost Basis, and Statements & Tax Forms. You will be expected to exercise strong judgment, challenge assumptions, and make clear prioritization decisions in a visible, dependency heavy space.

This role requires confidence leading the room , partnering deeply with engineering and design, and aligning diverse stakeholders around a clear path forward, even when that means saying no.

The role will actively contribute to firm level initiatives that bring important Cost Basis and Gain/Loss data to the mobile app in ways not previously available to clients. This will deliver critical decision-making information while closing key competitive and channel gaps.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product outcomes and prioritization for Mobile Historical Accounts experiences , including History/Transactions, Gain/Loss and Cost Basis, and Statements & Tax Forms in a highly visible, dependency heavy space.

  • Lead as the Product Owner across planning, delivery, and decision forums, setting direction, framing tradeoffs, and driving clarity amid ambiguity.

  • Advance firm level Cost Basis and Gain/Loss initiatives for mobile , bringing critical decision-making information to clients in ways not previously available in the app and closing key competitive and channel gaps.

  • Make and defend prioritization decisions by aligning partners around evidence, client impact, and shared outcomes.

  • Challenge assumptions and surface risks early , asking the hard questions needed to avoid downstream issues and rework.

  • Partner deeply with engineering and design , shaping mobile solutions through strong product judgment, UX perspective, and technical understanding.

  • Balance speed, quality, and risk , adapting plans as inputs change while maintaining momentum and accountability.

  • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership, translating complexity into actionable narratives.

  • Le ad end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT), partnering with design, business, and QA teams to validate functionality, identify defects, and ensure high-quality releases.

What you have

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of product management experience , with significant time as a hands-on Product Owner for digital or mobile platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at a senior level , owning decisions and outcomes in fast paced, high visibility environments.

  • Strong judgment in ambiguous situations , with a track record of making sound tradeoffs across competing priorities.

  • Confidence leading cross functional groups , including engineers, designers, and business partners, and aligning stakeholders at multiple levels.

  • A challenger mindset . Comfortable questioning the status quo, testing assumptions, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Solid technical acumen , including:

  • Ability to debug and validate behavior using mobile development, testing, and diagnostic tools

  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and system constraints

  • Comfort partnering with engineers on feasibility, sequencing, and trade offs

  • Leverage hands-on experience with iOS and Android devices, including smartphones and tablets

  • Experience with Everest and the FEC process is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
