Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a growing organization in Fort Meyers, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activity while maintaining accuracy across lease accounting, payables, receivables, and general ledger processes. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to month-end close activities, strengthen accounting procedures, and collaborate with internal teams and external customers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting records related to leased tower assets, including billing follow-up, cash application, and collection activity tied to customer accounts.

• Support financial administration for potential tower development activity by coordinating accounting needs and maintaining organized documentation.

• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions, posting updates, and helping establish practical accounting procedures and internal guidelines.

• Prepare and record journal entries required for the monthly close process, ensuring transactions are properly classified and completed on schedule.

• Reconcile account balances and investigate discrepancies to preserve accurate financial reporting.

• Process vendor invoices, schedule payments, and ensure obligations are handled in a timely and controlled manner.

• Create and maintain vendor profiles in NetSuite while verifying supporting information for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist with routine accounting operations as needed, including collaboration across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other finance functions. Requirements • At least 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.

• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close activities.

• Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.

• Practical experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

• Familiarity with collections activity and maintaining accurate customer and vendor records.

• Experience using accounting software such as NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a contract environment.
