Full job description

Your Impact

Alpha-9 Oncology is seeking a Director, Program Management to join the clinical team to drive planning and execution across our radiopharmaceutical pipeline. Our programs target solid and hematologic malignancies, and with clinical studies now underway, this role brings the structure that keeps programs on time, in scope, and within budget.

Working alongside our program leads and functional experts, you’ll build and own the integrated plans that connect Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, and nonclinical teams. Program strategy and clinical decisions sit with the program leads. Your role is to frame the options, balance quality, speed, and cost, and guide the team to clear decisions, then make sure those decisions are carried through. This is a hands-on role for someone who digs into the details, raises risks early, and builds trusted relationships across the company to keep work moving.

How You'll Contribute

  • Partner with program leads to shape program priorities and the integrated development plan for assigned programs.

  • Serve as program manager for assigned programs, owning the integrated plan and driving execution with Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, and nonclinical teams.

  • Build program timelines and scenarios, mapping the dependencies specific to RLT, such as isotope supply, drug product manufacturing, and imaging agent availability.

  • Act as the team’s point person on program risk, identifying issues early and driving mitigation and contingency plans with functional leads.

  • Present program status, trade-offs, and options to program leads and the leadership team to support timely decisions.

  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs for key milestones, including IND and CTA filings, study starts, and data readouts.

  • Run program team meetings, owning agendas, decision logs, and follow-through on action items.

  • Establish the program management tools, templates, and processes that scale with the company.

  • Manage program budgets and forecasts in partnership with Finance and functional leads.

  • Track deliverables from CROs, CDMOs, and isotope suppliers against the program plan, and escalate when their timelines put milestones at risk.

  • Connect nonclinical, CMC, regulatory, and clinical plans as programs move from IND-enabling work into the clinic.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field with 10+ years of biotech or pharmaceutical experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in drug development program or project management.

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, MBA, or PMP certification preferred.

  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and the interdependencies across Clinical, Regulatory, CMC, and Nonclinical functions.

  • Experience supporting drug development programs through IND or CTA submission and into early-phase clinical development. Oncology experience preferred.

  • Direct experience coordinating cross-functional activities and inputs for regulatory submissions, key development milestones, and program deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain integrated program plans, budgets, timelines, and long-range development strategies.

  • Experience identifying and managing program risks, assessing critical path implications, and proactively addressing issues that could affect program timelines or deliverables.

  • Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at all levels without direct authority, including CROs and external development partners.

  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to frame options, assess trade-offs, and guide teams toward clear, data-driven decisions.

  • Experience working in both larger pharmaceutical organizations and lean, growing biotech environments, including establishing program management processes and infrastructure from the ground up.

  • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex program activities and status into concise, actionable updates for senior leadership.
