EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Twelve-month - Hourly RESPONSIBLE TO: Maintenance Supervisor QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education/Certification:• High school diploma, GED, vocational school, or any equivalent combination of training and experience desired.

  • Experience: Evaluated on an individual basis.

  • Physical Requirement:• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.

  • Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Skills Required:• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

  • Basic working knowledge of construction and/or routine maintenance and repair procedures.

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to read blueprints and schematics will be considered a plus.

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.

  • Required Experience:• Successful recent work experience in a field related to this position.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Perform the task of this trade at the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems at all Coweta County school facilities
  • Regularly inspect buildings, systems, and equipment for potential issues
  • Assist HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and other trades as necessary
  • Prepare bids, budgets, and cost estimates
  • Purchase necessary parts and supplies
  • Maintain in a serviceable condition, tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
  • Hold a valid Georgia driver's permit and maintain in a good, clean, serviceable condition a county-owned vehicle
  • Utilize a computer work order system to complete assigned tasks
  • Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and established work practices
  • Perform such additional responsibilities as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
