Full job description

Our client, a leading industrial construction and manufacturing environment, is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator to join their team. As a Project Safety Coordinator, you will be part of the project safety function, supporting a factory construction project team. The ideal candidate will bring strong safety leadership, clear communication, and a steady commitment to continuous improvement—helping keep work sites organized, compliant, and focused on preventing incidents before they happen.

Job Title: Project Safety Coordinator

Location: Mt Sterling, KY

Pay Range: $50 - $60/hr

What's the Job?

  • Ensure a documented pre-shift daily safety briefing is completed with the project team to review potential hazards and safety concerns for the day.

  • When multiple shifts are in operation, complete safety coordinator shift handoffs to communicate outgoing/incoming safety focus areas.

  • Inspect work areas to verify compliance with safety regulations and identify potential hazards early.

  • Issue, approve, and close daily required Permits to Work, Risk Predictions, and inspections to confirm safety protocols are followed throughout the day.

  • Provide safety training and guidance as needed; review and update safety procedures and protocols when required.

What's Needed?

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (required).

  • Current CPR/AED certification.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a safety role with primary responsibility for contractor safety oversight in a general construction environment.

  • Demonstrated experience with electronic Permit-to-Work (ePTW) systems, lift planning and equipment rigging inspections, and Lockout/Tagout/Tryout (LOTO/LOTOTO) programs.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents; strong capability to identify safety risks, assess compliance gaps, and communicate corrective actions effectively.
