Department: Imaging Reports To: Imaging Manager FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt SUMMARY The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role ensures high-quality imaging, maintains patient safety, and provides compassionate care while adhering to established clinical and regulatory standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. + Perform CT scans and related diagnostic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians. + Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning the correctly. + Operate CT equipment safely and effectively to capture high-quality images. + Administer contrast media when appropriate and monitor patients for adverse reactions. + Evaluate images for quality and accuracy prior to submission for interpretation. + Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and imaging documentation. + Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control protocols. + Perform routine equipment maintenance checks and report malfunctions. + Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff. + Provide patient care and support, including monitoring patient condition during procedures. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program (associate’s degree or higher) required. Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or equivalent preferred. Additional formal training in computed tomography (CT) required. 1–2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred. Prior experience performing CT procedures preferred. Clinical experience in diagnostic imaging during education required. Experience in hospital or outpatient imaging settings preferred. Demonstrated competency in patient care, safety, and imaging procedures. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) required. ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required or obtained within 6-12 months. State licensure required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, Ongoing continuing education (CE) to maintain ARRT certification and state registration. Compliance with employer credentialing, health screenings, and background checks.
