Plant Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial oversight for a manufacturing operation in Logansport, Indiana. This role is responsible for strengthening cost visibility, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring accurate reporting across plant performance. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in cost and inventory accounting, fixed assets, profit and loss management, and financial planning within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Direct plant-level financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of operating results.

• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting processes to ensure accurate product costing and margin visibility.

• Manage inventory accounting and monitor valuation, reserves, and controls tied to plant operations.

• Lead month-end close activities, preparing timely financial statements and variance analysis for leadership review.

• Maintain fixed asset records, capital spending oversight, and depreciation accuracy in accordance with company policy.

• Partner with plant leadership to evaluate financial performance, identify cost drivers, and recommend corrective actions.

• Support profit and loss management by tracking plant expenses, productivity, and overall operational efficiency.

• Prepare financial plans, reports, and performance insights that help guide strategic and day-to-day business decisions. Requirements • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing principles.

• Proven experience with inventory accounting, fixed assets, and month-end close processes.

• Ability to analyze profit and loss results and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

• Experience with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting responsibilities.

• Solid understanding of internal controls and financial accuracy within plant operations.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and operations teams.
