District Operations Manager

Layton, UT

$100-125K/year

We are seeking an experienced District Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day performance of several customer-facing locations within a defined geographic area. This position will provide leadership to location managers, drive operational consistency, monitor financial performance, and ensure a high level of customer service across the assigned locations.

The ideal candidate has experience managing managers and is comfortable balancing people leadership, financial performance, customer experience, staffing, and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple locations within the assigned area.

  • Coach and support Location Managers to ensure consistent operational standards.

  • Conduct regular visits to each location to evaluate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Ensure locations maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, service, and overall presentation.

  • Assist with operational issues, employee relations matters, and other challenges as needed.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall performance.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Monitor location-level financial performance, labor costs, and operating expenses.

  • Review P&L statements and key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Assist with budgeting, expense management, and cost-control initiatives.

  • Hold Location Managers accountable for financial and operational goals.

  • Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership.

People Management & Development

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop Location Managers in partnership with HR and senior leadership.

  • Support Location Managers in recruiting, training, scheduling, and developing their teams.

  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for results.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching conversations.

  • Help build a positive, team-oriented culture focused on service and results.

  • Address performance and employee relations issues when necessary.

Customer Experience

  • Ensure customers receive a consistent, high-quality experience across all assigned locations.

  • Assist with escalated customer concerns and service issues.

  • Identify trends in customer feedback and develop solutions to improve satisfaction and retention.

  • Reinforce company standards and customer-service expectations.

Sales & Local Marketing

  • Partner with marketing and leadership teams to support local sales initiatives.

  • Help drive revenue through events, promotions, partnerships, and community engagement.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of local marketing efforts.

  • Develop relationships with local businesses and community organizations when appropriate.

Inventory & Facilities

  • Ensure locations maintain appropriate inventory and supply levels.

  • Monitor ordering and inventory-control processes.

  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and facility-related needs.

  • Ensure locations are properly staffed and equipped to meet customer demand.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of management experience, with experience managing supervisors or managers preferred.

  • Multi-location management experience is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in retail, restaurants, hospitality, fitness, entertainment, recreation, or other customer-facing operations is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of P&L statements, labor management, budgets, and cost controls.

  • Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop, and hold managers accountable.

  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business/operational systems.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.

  • Willingness to travel between assigned locations as needed.
