Full job description

The Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA), as part of the Department of Social and Health Services, is participating in a statewide effort to implement Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR). We are seeking a Physician to join our (EHR) team. Physicians from all clinical backgrounds and specialty areas are welcome to apply. Physicians with experience in state-run inpatient psychiatric and developmental disability settings are encouraged to apply. In this role you will work with various medical staff members across BHHA to be a change champion, helping them move from primarily paper-based documentation to the utilization of Epic foundational workflows in their daily work. This position will help define needs for the role post implementation. This job will be largely remote, with on-site and travel requirements across all BHHA facilities in Washington state during key milestone dates throughout the Epic implementation process. We offer competitive benefits, supportive onboarding, meaningful clinical work and a long-term career opportunity.

Some of what you'll do:• Make decisions, as a representative of BHHA practitioners, for the alignment of workflows, processes, forms, and assessments to the foundational EHR system

  • Establish and maintain solid collegial relationships with practitioners across BHHA
  • Direct/guide practitioners in the policy/adoption of new workflow processes, forms, assessments and other tools
  • Understand and articulate current state primary facility workflows at assigned location(s) and apply a longitudinal understanding of end-to-end processes
  • Advocate for standardized solutions that deliver high quality care
  • Work to identify best practices and to reduce unnecessary variation with similar clinical workflows and clinical technologies
  • Promote EHR-related activities and encourage implementation and adoption of the EHR
  • Support technical teams by providing clinical perspective in analyzing complex technology issues
  • Work with staff to consult and assist in process improvement opportunities

Who should apply? Professionals with a valid license to practice medicine and surgery in the state of Washington and eligibility for certification from a program accredited by the American Board of Medical specialties or for International Medical Graduates, a valid limited license approved by the Washington Medical Commission as required by RCW 18.71.095.

Interested, please apply with current chronological resume and three professional references (with current contact information).
