Job Description:
Our Opportunity Chewy is looking for a Senior Product Manager based out of our Bellevue, WA location to help shape the future of how customers discover and evaluate products across our shopping experience. Discovery sits at the intersection of customer intent and Chewy's catalog, powering experiences across Search, Browse, Recommendations, and emerging AI-assisted shopping journeys. As these capabilities become more intelligent and personalized, we have an opportunity to rethink the experience around them, helping customers do less work to find the right solution.
The Senior Product Manager for Discovery Experience will own and shape the way customers understand, refine, compare, and select products across Search and Browse. This role will partner closely with Product Design, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, Search, CAI, Ads, and commercial teams to identify customer problems, develop product strategies, run experiments, and deliver measurable improvements to both customer experience and Chewy's business.
What You'll Do
- Own the Discovery Experience roadmap: Develop and manage a roadmap spanning key Discovery experiences such as product cards, filters and facets, navigation, merchandising, product comparison, information hierarchy, and other tools that help customers confidently make decisions.
- Turn customer problems into product strategies: Use behavioral data, customer research, experimentation, and competitive insights to understand where customers struggle during product discovery and determine which problems are most valuable to solve. Move beyond feature requests to identify the underlying customer need and develop scalable solutions.
- Reduce the work required to shop: Challenge traditional ecommerce patterns and determine where smarter ranking, personalization, intent understanding, and AI can replace customer effort. Evaluate not only which new features Discovery should build, but which legacy controls or experiences are no longer necessary.
- Lead experimentation and optimization: Develop hypotheses, define success metrics, launch controlled experiments, interpret results, and translate learnings into roadmap decisions. Build a portfolio of evidence about what helps Chewy customers make faster and more confident purchasing decisions.
- Partner across Discovery capabilities: Work with Search, Recommendations, Advertising, Data Science, and Engineering teams to translate increasingly sophisticated backend capabilities into intuitive customer experiences. Help ensure these systems feel like one coherent Discovery experience rather than independent product surfaces.
- Support Chewy's strategic priorities: Apply Discovery capabilities to enterprise opportunities such as Healthcare, Pharmacy, Private Brands, App, and other strategic initiatives while protecting the quality and coherence of the overall customer experience.
- Operate independently from strategy through launch: Own problems end-to-end: opportunity sizing, product requirements, stakeholder alignment, prioritization, experimentation, launch, measurement, and iteration. Bring clear recommendations to senior leaders when decisions or tradeoffs are required.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ years of relevant, post Bachelor’s experience in: Product Management, eCommerce, Technology, Digital Media/Content Platforms, Advertising/Monetization tooling, Analytics, Consulting, or related field
- Ability to drive strategies to completion, including making directional product decisions—not only executing delivery
- Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive BRDs/PRDs that translate into shovel-ready engineering work (clear scope, acceptance criteria, and testability)
- Experience leading effective UAT and release readiness, including supporting go/no-go decisions
- Ability to lead, be nimble, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail and situational fluency; ability to influence, document decisions, and make trade-offs at all levels of management
- Technical fluency sufficient to think through complex systems and collaborate deeply with engineering (medium at minimum; higher is a plus)
The base salary range for this role is $141,000 - $225,000.00.• The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
We offer different types of insurance and benefits, such as medical/Rx, vision, dental, life, disability, hospital indemnity, critical illness, and accident. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.
Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
