  • Build features for reviewing, searching, and managing recorded video

  • Build and deploy containerized software that runs in both edge and cloud environments and holds up in denied, disrupted, intermittent, and limited bandwidth conditions

  • Build mobile and wearable applications, including hands-free interfaces for users in the field

  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into user-facing features, working closely with the AI engineers who build them

  • Implement authentication, authorization, and other security controls across applications and services, and contribute to the documentation required for security authorization

  • Build dashboards and administrative tools that help support teams monitor and manage deployed systems

  • Document code, APIs, architecture, and deployment procedures, and present design tradeoffs, test results, and demos to a diverse audience, including senior leadership and customer stakeholders

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on full stack development in Python and TypeScript, building web applications and backend services that run in production

  • Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Python web frameworks such as FastAPI or Django, HTML and CSS, REST API design, and SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL

  • Experience developing in Linux environments, including Bash or Python scripting for automation, diagnostics, and deployment

  • Experience deploying containerized services with Docker, Kubernetes, and continuous integration and delivery pipelines on AWS

  • Experience building real-time audio and video features with WebRTC or similar technologies, along with recorded video playback and processing

  • Experience building software that operates with limited or intermittent connectivity, including offline data storage, retry behavior, and data sync once a connection returns

  • Experience with identity and access management, including OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and role-based access control

  • Experience integrating AI and machine learning services into applications, such as search or conversational features built on large language models

  • Working knowledge of Android or cross-platform mobile development, ideally on wearable devices

  • Strong troubleshooting and secure coding skills, and familiarity with the security requirements federal systems must meet to receive an authority to operate

  • Ability to work with limited direction in an innovation environment where requirements evolve and priorities shift with end-users and stakeholders

  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to document designs and test results for both engineering and customer audiences
