Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Principal Consultant. This person is a senior, delivery-focused solutioning role created to strengthen and add resilience to the client's most critical consulting engagements. This person will serve as a trusted, expert-level advisor to clients, independently guiding them toward the right solution rather than simply executing whatever is requested. They will also provide technical mentorship to the broader consulting team and contribute to strengthening the practice's delivery methodology. This role is central to reducing single-point-of-failure risk across our most complex accounts and expanding the organization's overall solutioning capability. Salary range depending on experience is $180,000 to $190,000 plus bonuses. Core Responsibilities Customer-Facing Solutioning Serve as a confident, expert voice with clients, able to challenge a client's proposed approach when it is not in their best interest, and clearly explain why. Present clients with solution options rather than simply implementing requests as submitted; guide clients toward sound decisions and secure genuine consensus. Operate as a trusted advisor rather than an order-taker, bringing a consultative point of view to every engagement. Communicate directly and efficiently; comfortable delivering difficult feedback to clients in a clear, timely, and professional manner. Team Mentorship Provide hands-on, technical mentorship to consultants across active engagements: reviewing proposed solutions, validating approaches, and offering guidance. Act as a sounding board for the team on complex or ambiguous solution design questions. Help raise the overall solutioning maturity and confidence of the broader consulting team. Delivery Methodology & Practice Support Contribute to organizing and strengthening delivery methodology, templates, and work packages used across engagements. Support resource structuring and delivery best practices in partnership with practice leadership. Help formalize and document repeatable approaches to solution delivery. What Success Looks Like The right candidate has enough real-world experience and domain credibility to know when a client's proposed approach is likely to cause problems, and the confidence and communication skill to say so clearly and constructively. They do not simply defer to client requests; they actively shape the solution. They are seen by the team as a mentor and technical resource, not just an individual contributor.
