Full job description

Senior Manager, Product Marketing & Lifecycle Location: Oakland, CA; Hybrid

About Honey Homes Honey Homes is transforming how homeowners take care of their homes. We pair homeowners with a dedicated, full-time craftsman who gets to know their home over time, handling everyday repairs, preventive maintenance, projects, and all the things that otherwise sit on the to-do list. Behind the scenes, our technology and AI-powered systems help our team deliver a dramatically easier, more proactive home-care experience. Today, thousands of homeowners across the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Chicago, and beyond trust Honey Homes to care for their homes. We’re building a new category of relationship-based home care—and we’re looking for a Senior Manager, Product Marketing & Lifecycle to help more homeowners discover Honey Homes, understand why it’s different, and experience its value.

The Opportunity We’re looking for a builder who sits at the intersection of product marketing, lifecycle, and customer marketing. You’ll own lifecycle strategy across the prospect and early member journey, using audience insights, strong messaging, and thoughtful experimentation to turn interest into action. You’ll also build programs that turn our happiest members into advocates, bring their stories to life, and support key product marketing initiatives across the company. This isn’t a role where you hand a strategy to someone else to execute. You’ll identify opportunities, design programs, execute flawlessly, and measure results. You’ll proactively use AI to help with everything, and demonstrate rigor and attention to detail and accuracy. Your north star is simple: help more homeowners discover Honey Homes, understand why it’s different, and experience its value.

What You’ll Own Build a prospect lifecycle engine that generates meaningful growth Own lifecycle programs from MQL to new member: strategy, segmentation, messaging and content, build, automation, experimentation, measurement, and iteration. You’ll be the hands-on owner of our email and SMS tooling and able to ship without waiting on Engineering. You’ll build and continually improve programs across the prospect journey, including:

  • MQL nurture for new and existing leads, personalized by market and acquisition source

  • Walk-through reschedule and cancellation recovery

  • Follow-up for homeowners who complete a walk-through but haven’t yet joined

  • Sign-up abandonment recovery

  • Waitlist activation and new-market launch communications

  • Automated outbound to local groups and potential partners

  • Newsletters, seasonal campaigns, incentives, and tentpole moments

You’ll launch 2–3 new programs or meaningful experiments each month and build the reporting needed to understand what’s working, diagnose what isn’t, and decide what to test next. Turn happy members into advocates—and their experiences into proof Our members and their communities can be some of our most powerful marketers. You’ll help build scalable programs that make it easy for them to spread the word—and create a steady pipeline of real customer stories that bring the Honey Homes experience to life. You’ll:

  • Build and scale our member ambassador program, from identifying potential ambassadors through personalized outreach, communications, incentives, and payouts

  • Use AI and automation to make member outreach increasingly personalized and scalable

  • Interview members, uncover compelling stories, and turn them into content for our website, lifecycle, Sales and Member Success, paid campaigns, social, and PR

  • Build and maintain a pipeline of relevant, seasonal, and topical content that showcases Honey Homes’ expertise, members, and craftspeople

  • Support local content and PR opportunities that help Honey Homes show up authentically in the communities we serve

What Might Make This Role Challenging Honey Homes is still building the playbook. There won’t always be an existing campaign to optimize, a perfect brief, or someone telling you exactly what to do next. Some of the highest-impact programs you’ll own don’t exist yet. You’ll need to be equally comfortable thinking strategically and getting into the details: writing an SMS in the morning, digging into funnel data at lunch, interviewing a member or designing a new ambassador experiment in the afternoon, and figuring out how AI could automate half of it tomorrow. If you love creating the playbook rather than following one, you’ll probably love this role.

What We’re Looking For You’re a builder. You don’t wait for perfect instructions. You’ve taken ideas from 0→1, tested them quickly, learned from what happened, and made them better. Ambiguity gives you energy rather than slowing you down. You’re AI-first. You use AI to build, test, automate, and improve programs—not just to draft copy. You’re excited by what’s newly possible in personalization and experimentation and constantly look for ways technology can make a small team dramatically more effective. You love storytelling and personalized communications. You find the story that makes someone feel understood and ready to act. You combine strong writing instincts with customer and behavioral data to deliver the right message, through the right channel, at the right moment. You’re creatively restless. You’re constantly asking, “What else could we try?” You bring bold, unconventional ideas and aren’t afraid to break the normal playbook when there’s a better way. You’re analytical and experimental. You’re as comfortable digging into funnel performance as you are writing copy. You form hypotheses, measure results, and use what you learn to decide what to do next. You prioritize relentlessly. There will always be more good ideas than time. You identify the work that matters most, focus on it, and get it shipped. You communicate clearly. You’re an exceptional writer and storyteller, and you create clarity around what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, what happened, and what comes next. You act like an owner. You care about the outcome, not just your piece of it. You do what’s right for future members, current members, and the company—even when it means stepping outside your job description.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience across product marketing, lifecycle marketing, growth marketing, consumer marketing, or a combination of these disciplines

  • Demonstrated experience owning lifecycle programs across email and/or SMS, including segmentation, automation, experimentation, and measurement

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with examples of communications or campaigns you’ve personally created

  • Strong analytical instincts and experience using funnel and behavioral data to identify opportunities and improve conversion

  • Experience building or scaling programs from 0→1 rather than solely operating mature programs

  • Comfortable working hands-on in marketing and analytics tools rather than relying exclusively on agencies or other teams for execution

  • Excited to use AI and automation as part of your everyday workflow

  • Experience in a fast-moving startup or similarly high-ownership environment strongly preferred

  • Consumer, marketplace, membership/subscription, local-services, or home-services experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation: $160,000-$190,000 / year, plus equity, and full health benefits.

We are an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants equally without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran status, or disability status. Women and under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply.
