Job Opening: Car Wash Maintenance Mechanic (Contract – 1099) Location: Shiloh Illinois Company: Auffenberg Dealer Group of Illinois Pay: $35–$50 per hour, based on skill and experience Employment Type: Contract (1099 Independent Contractor) About Us: We are a fast-growing car wash operation committed to delivering top-tier service and a spotless experience for our customers. We’re seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join us as a 1099 contractor, providing both scheduled and on-call support to keep our equipment running smoothly. Responsibilities: * Perform preventative maintenance twice a month on car wash equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems) * Be available on-call for urgent repairs and troubleshooting * Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues * Maintain accurate service records and logs * Coordinate with management for scheduling and project planning * Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational guidelines Requirements: * Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a car wash or similar environment * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics * Ability to read technical manuals and schematics * Must have your own tools and reliable transportation * Must be able to bring an assistant if needed for specific products or projects * Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently * Valid driver’s license * Availability for occasional weekend or emergency repairs Compensation & Terms: * $35–$50 per hour, based on skill and experience * 1099 contract position * Flexible scheduling for preventative maintenance * On-call availability required * Must have own tools * Potential for long-term engagement based on performance The Auffenberg Dealer Group is an equal opportunity employer.
