Job Summary:

This positionreflects the mission, vision and values of Westchester Medical Center Health Networkand complies with all relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines. The purpose of this position is to provide collaboration with physician, nurses and other healthcare workers within our dept. The employee is responsible for answering phones, ordering supplies and transcribing orders given by physicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates clearly and effectively with nurses, administration, and physicians • Maintains patients files • Prepares patient treatment charts • Updates patient information • Schedules appointments • Answers telephones, orders supplies and enters physician orders • Handles administrative duties and provides back-up support with additional functions as required • Must develop and foster excellent client and staff relations • Performs other functions as required and trained to perform Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience:

  • 1 year of administrative and/or customer service experience, required

  • Previous healthcare administrative experience, preferred

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required

Licenses / Certifications:

N/A

Other:

  • Working knowledge of hospital organization and procedures

  • Excellent listening and communication skills

  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities

  • Conflict resolution skills and ability to maintain personal composure when priorities quickly change

  • Able to multi-task, and be goal and detail oriented

  • Works well under pressure and deadlines
