This is a Federal Study Work study position

Student Ambassadors are part of Admissions who represent OCC at campus events.

The main role of Student Ambassadors is to conduct campus tours for prospective students, family and community members.They also assist the Admissions Office by participating in student panels, meeting with visitors to provide a student perspective, and networking to help the community understand all that OCC has to offer. Additionally, Ambassadors work in the office to assist with event preparation, office tasks, and assisting the Admissions Staff with various projects.

Students sign up for shifts when they are available, and schedules are flexible to accommodate classes and schoolwork.

Shifts are typically one to three hours in length with Open Houses being a full day (once a semester).

Job Requirements:

  • Must have a valid FAFSA (https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa) on file

  • Must have a financial need, as demonstrated by the FAFSA

  • Must be matriculated into a program

  • Attending at least half-time (6 credit hours)

  • Maintain satisfactory progress (SAP) towards the completion of their program

  • Professional, approachable, and friendly demeanor

  • Availability to attend training sessions and scheduled events

  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed for special programs

  • Availability for Fall and Spring Open House

Additional Information:

  • Pay Rate: Starting rate of $16.00 for new Federal Work Studies.

Starting rate of $17.00 for returning Federal Work Studies

  • Hours of Operations: Monday-Friday 8:30am- 4:30pm (

To see if you qualify for Federal Work Study (FWS) Position:

Federal Work Study may work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session.

  • Additional hours may be worked during college breaks.
