Job Description

Job Title: E&P Inspection Operator

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: EP

Reports To: E&P Supervisor

Position: Night Shift Position Summary: Ensure accurate production and inspection of mechanical forging products to meet customer quality standards. Responsibilities include documenting measurements, inspections, and scrap, reporting nonconforming materials, and following all SOPs and safety protocols, including “Stop, Call, Wait” when needed. Must uphold KAAP Core Values, meet safety and quality objectives, and follow leadership directives. Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all Quality and Safety standards/procedures, including proper PPE usage.

  • Ensure products are loaded on the correct hanger and in the proper location per Loader SOP for E&P.

  • Report any Safety or Quality defects/concerns promptly to the Supervisor.

  • Identify and report mechanical/production materials needing repair or investigation.

  • Record and report quality data as applicable.

  • Meet cycle times for processes while adhering to safety and quality standards for maximum efficiency.

  • Contribute improvement/refinement ideas for the work area.

  • Meet all KAAP performance goals/requirements.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Inspect products for defects before packaging.

  • Load products according to the provided schedules.

  • Maintain production requirements for assigned products.

  • Exhibit a positive attitude toward co-workers and superiors.

  • Promote and maintain safe and healthy working conditions per regulatory and company standards; report violations.

  • Follow designated priorities to maintain schedule completion.

  • Maintain production reports and checks within work area requirements.

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Foster good working relationships with operators, quality control, and inspection personnel to ensure continuous productivity.

  • Package products as specified by quality documents.

  • Follow all SOPs without deviation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk 12 hrs. per day.

  • Perform occasional physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Willing to work in hot/humid, cold and noisy manufacturing environments.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write information on production and quality reports.

  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables.

  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English.

  • Ability to follow instructions.
