Position Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week

Pay: Starting at $25.70/hour

Women's Center

The Women's Center provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, supporting women through every stage of life. Our team includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and certified nurse midwives committed to personalized, patient-centered care.

Schedule

  • Full-Time

  • 40 hours per week

  • Day Shift

  • Occasional travel between clinic locations may be required

Position Summary

The Medical Assistant / Physician Practice Assistant supports physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff in delivering high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with direct patient care, performing clinical and administrative duties, supporting patient education, and ensuring efficient clinic operations.

This role is an integral part of the healthcare team and contributes to positive patient experiences and quality outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, patient histories, and medication information.

  • Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.

  • Provide patient education and reinforce care instructions.

  • Prepare examination rooms and clinical supplies.

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.

  • Accurately document patient information within the electronic medical record.

  • Support preventive care and health maintenance activities.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA requirements.

  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to achieve patient care goals.

  • Contribute to a welcoming, efficient, and patient-centered clinic environment.

Minimum Qualifications

One of the Following:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, EMT, LPN, or RN program; or

  • Current Nursing Student who has successfully completed Clinical Fundamentals and Pharmacology coursework; or

  • Previous direct patient care, outpatient clinic, or medical office experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/HCP) certification.

  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record systems.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous outpatient clinic experience.

  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.

  • Experience in patient registration, scheduling, or customer service.

  • Experience comparable to a Patient Service Representative role.
