Full job description

Corewell Health West is seeking a Full Time BC/BE Internal Medicine physician to join their Northern Regional Hospitalist team. This position will float between Gerber Hospital, Big Rapids Hospital, and Ludington Hospital. You will enjoy working a true seven on-seven off schedule, Tuesday through Monday: all day shifts; and all shifts for that week on at one location. Procedures preferred but not required, vent management is required. Great virtual support from Grand Rapids Intensivist.

Essential Functions

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.

  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.

  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.

  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.

  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.

  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.

  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.

  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.

Qualifications

  • License – Michigan MD/DO

  • BE/BC Internal Medicine Residency or Family Medicine Residency (with demonstrated strong inpatient experience)

  • Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Certification - Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
