Full job description
The Opportunity As an Implementation Expert, you’ll be the bridge between new customers and their success with Lumber. You’ll lead the onboarding and implementation process for construction companies adopting our platform — ensuring they get up and running smoothly, with workflows tailored to their business needs. You’ll combine tech expertise with a consultative approach to help customers realize the full value of Lumber.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end implementation projects for new Lumber customers, from kickoff to go-live.
- Partner with Customer Success Managers, Product, and Support teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Configure Lumber modules (Time Tracking, Payroll, HR, Benefits, etc.) to align with each client’s business rules, pay structures, and compliance needs.
- Conduct discovery sessions to understand client processes and recommend best practices.
- Train customer teams — both office and field users — through live sessions, workshops, and resources.
- Track project milestones, manage timelines, and proactively identify risks or roadblocks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to surface customer feedback that drives continuous product improvement.
- Ensure a smooth handoff to the Customer Success team post-implementation for ongoing support and success. What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in software implementation and onboarding (construction tech or SaaS experience a big plus).
- Familiarity with construction operations, payroll, or workforce management systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills — you can speak the language of both tech and construction.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while keeping clients confident and informed.
