What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee daily operations of excavation, grading, and underground utility crews

  • Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment to meet schedule and quality goals

  • Operate heavy equipment as needed (excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, rollers)

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

  • Set grades using lasers and grade rods; GPS experience

  • Ensure job site safety by enforcing company and OSHA standards

  • Communicate clearly with project managers, inspectors, and crew members

  • Train and mentor crew members in equipment use, safety, and quality standards

  • Monitor progress, solve problems on site, and report issues proactively

  • Travel to out-of-town job sites

  • Support site cleanup and light equipment maintenance

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (utilities, grading, or site work)

  • 3+ years of leadership experience as a foreman or crew lead

  • Proficiency operating a wide range of heavy equipment

  • Ability to read blueprints and independently set grade

  • Strong communication, leadership, and team-building skills

  • Focus on safety and compliance in dynamic field environments

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain

  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours when necessary

  • Familiarity with Topcon GPS and light mechanical skills a plus

  • Able to work year-round, with some seasonal variation

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage – based on experience
