Full job description
JOB SUMMARY
Provides respiratory therapy services for inpatient and outpatient services for WhidbeyHealth Medical Center according to NBRC, AARC, state and local protocols, policies and procedures.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:

Validates provider orders and communicates with providers in the event of inaccurate or incomplete information.

Ensures proper operation of equipment and takes appropriate action for deficiencies.

Provides pre and post patient interactions and explanations according to AIDET and department policies.

Complete patient procedures, document in EMR and provide any patient results to provider and facility as necessary.

Disinfect, restock supplies and equipment in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Monitors all patients on ventilators or breathing support equipment. Works with providers on solutions for optimal patient outcomes as needed, following locally established protocols.

Performs outpatient procedures as needed.

The Respiratory Therapist is an integral part of the health care team; responds and assists with rapid response and code blue alerts in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy Program and has passed the NBRC Entry-level licensure test, minimum CRT.
Training and Experience
- One year experience as a Respiratory Therapist required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Wahington State DOH Respiratory Care Practitioner License required. C

Current BLS HCP required at hire.

Current ACLS required at hire.

Current NRP required at hire.
