Position Title: Executive Director Job Category: Administrative/Management JOB ID #: 4405 Date Posted: April 29, 2024 Date Available: Immediately Closing Date Open until filled Loan Repayment: Job Description: The Wyoming Primary Care Association (WYPCA) seeks a collaborative and authentic relationship builder to work alongside Wyoming’s community health centers to advance and change the healthcare landscape in the state. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, population health strategies, and will provide excellent service and care to members, staff, the Board, and key partners across the state.
WYPCA has a long history of support, knowledge sharing, ongoing communication, and trusted guidance around state policy and advocacy. WYPCA needs a fierce and loyal advocate not only for its members but also for the individuals and families across Wyoming who rely on Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) for compassionate and inclusive care.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to build a solid foundation of success and sustainability and help change the face of healthcare in a rural/frontier state. The new leader will be rooted in state policy and will engage legislators, state policy experts, and advocate on behalf of members. The strongest candidates are future-focused, think creatively and work to infuse innovation in all activities.
The WYPCA Board of Directors is looking for a candidate with:

Passion, collaboration, and an abiding commitment to the mission of WYPCA and its member community health centers.

At least 10 years of executive leadership experience with a strong track record of building, empowering, supporting, and inspiring a diverse group of key stakeholders, staff, and policy leaders.

Federal Grant or Cooperative Agreement experience is required.

Track record of building and nurturing authentic, trust-based, cooperative, and high-impact organizational partnerships.

Record of open and inclusive leadership and management with a talented and multidisciplinary staff.

Strong, clear, and transparent communication skills with the ability to engage, connect, and inspire a variety of audiences.

A strong, proactive problem solver who can bridge the gap between strategy and execution and who brings experience navigating the complex and evolving healthcare terrain.

Experience overseeing essential executive functions, including strategy, finance, operations, and programs

Significant experience within a healthcare organization or association is required.

Deep understanding of the inner workings of FQHCs is a plus. Travel and attend meetings as requested, including overnight stays both in-state and nationally.

Be in Cheyenne, Wyoming, during all Wyoming Legislative Sessions and able to travel in state to appropriate legislative committee meetings.

Travel by automobile and/or airplane to multiple locations including throughout Wyoming.

Obtain a valid Wyoming driver’s license.
