The VRAI Marketing Director is responsible for defining and leading the brand’s marketing strategy to build awareness, create emotional connection, and drive customer acquisition and loyalty. This leader shapes how the brand shows up in culture, ensuring every campaign, collaboration, and customer touchpoint reinforces a distinctive point of view and elevates brand desirability.

The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with creative excellence, understands the aspirations of target customers, and has a strong instinct for fashion, culture, social trends, and storytelling. They know how to transform insights into compelling communication that inspires consideration and convert attention into sales.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning: Develop and execute the annual communications strategy aligned with business objectives; define and evolve brand positioning, voice, messaging, visual identity, and differentiated campaigns to ensure a consistent experience across all touchpoints.

  • Integrated Communication Planning: Lead comprehensive communications planning across digital, social, retail, PR, influencer, CRM, and paid media; manage campaign calendars and launch strategies across product collections to deliver culturally relevant, authentic, and commercially impactful messaging.

  • Creative Direction & Asset Production: Partner with internal/external creative teams and agencies to oversee the development of world-class creative assets—including photography, video, social content, retail marketing materials, and digital experiences—raising creative standards while maintaining speed to market.

  • Cultural Relevance & Strategic Collaborations: Maintain a deep pulse on fashion, art, entertainment, and consumer trends to identify white-space opportunities; develop strategic brand collaborations with creators, artists, designers, influencers, and aligned brands to generate earned media and social engagement.

  • Retail & Omni-Channel Marketing: Create integrated marketing programs that drive foot traffic, online conversion, and customer preference across stores and e-commerce; partner with merchandising, operations, and sales teams to supply stores with compelling launch support and campaign assets.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Performance: Balance creative intuition with data-informed performance metrics to optimize campaign efficacy, manage cross-functional execution, and ensure every initiative elevates brand equity while meeting commercial goals.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Fashion, or a related field with 8–12+ years of progressive marketing experience (preferably within fashion, fine jewelry, beauty, lifestyle, or premium consumer brands).

  • Integrated Campaign Leadership: Proven track record of leading multi-channel brand campaigns from concept through execution, with demonstrated success managing creative agencies and cross-functional teams.

  • Creative Judgment & Storytelling: Exceptional creative intuition, storytelling abilities, and a passion for fashion, design, self-expression, and creating emotional resonance with consumers.

  • Cultural Connection & Partnerships: Demonstrated success in developing culturally relevant marketing initiatives, identifying emerging consumer trends, and executing high-impact strategic brand partnerships.

  • Omni-Channel Expertise: Deep technical understanding of digital marketing, social media ecosystems, influencer marketing, PR, CRM, and content strategy across both digital and physical retail channels.

  • Analytical & Commercial Acumen: Strong analytical skills with a data-informed, consumer-obsessed approach that balances artistic creativity with performance metrics, brand health, and revenue targets.

  • Collaborative Leadership Style: Highly collaborative, influential, and curious mindset with the ability to navigate cross-functional dynamics, challenge convention, and align diverse teams toward shared growth objectives.

  • Execution & Delivery: Proven ability to manage campaign budgets, oversee complex project timelines, and consistently launch successful product introductions on time and within scope.
