Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to drive our growth in industrial automation, precision manufacturing, and factory automation markets. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in laser displacement technology and high-precision sensing solutions for industrial applications. You will define market strategies, build key partnerships, and drive product adoption, working closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Aeva’s laser displacement and high-precision sensing solutions in industrial automation.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with OEMs, system integrators, and key industry players.
  • Lead business development efforts to expand Aeva’s presence in manufacturing, robotics, and industrial automation sectors.
  • Responsible for sales and business development of new products to large-scale commercial orders.
  • Shape product positioning and messaging to effectively communicate Aeva’s value proposition in precision measurement and automation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define customer needs, market requirements, and product roadmaps.
  • Represent Aeva at industry conferences and trade shows, positioning the company as a leader in high-precision sensing technology.
  • Secure and develop customer relationships successfully to production. What you'll have:
  • 10+ years of experience in business development, product marketing, or strategic sales within industrial automation, precision sensing, or laser displacement technology.
  • Deep technical understanding of laser displacement sensors, LiDAR, 3D camera, line-scanner, and other high-precision measurement technologies used in manufacturing and robotics.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful go-to-market strategies for high-tech industrial products.
  • Strong network within industrial automation, factory automation, and high-precision measurement industries.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and product management teams.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders. Nice to haves:
  • Background in optics, photonics, or semiconductor-based sensing technologies.
  • Prior experience working with robotics, metrology, or machine vision companies.
  • Experience scaling business operations in a high-growth startup environment.

Salary pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future. Depending on the position offered, equity, bonus, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax commuter and health care/dependent care accounts, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and 11 paid holidays annually.
