What You'll Do
As a Nursing Assistant on our Med Surg Acute unit, you'll be an important part of the patient care team. Under the direction of nursing leadership and Registered Nurses, you'll provide hands-on support to patients while helping the unit run smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:

Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care

Take and document vital signs
-
Participate in hourly rounding
-
Respond promptly to patient call lights
-
Assist with meals, tray setup, feeding, and nutritional needs
-
Help patients with repositioning, ambulation, transfers, and range-of-motion exercises
-
Assist with physical and occupational therapy activities as directed
-
Maintain patient comfort, safety, and cleanliness
-
Observe patients and promptly report changes in their physical or emotional condition to the nursing team
-
Accurately document patient care
-
Respect patient rights, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
-
Communicate professionally with patients, families, nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff
-
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide quality patient care
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
At least 1 year of customer service experience
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
-
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Professional and courteous approach when working with patients, families, and staff
-
Basic computer literacy
-
Ability and willingness to float to other hospital units based on health system needs
Previous hospital or healthcare experience is preferred, but not required.
