Full job description

Rebuilding lives. Together. Graphic Designer (Intern, Volunteer, Remote) What is Duet? Duet is an online philanthropic platform that enables donors to provide meaningful aid to vulnerable families in a more dignified, efficient, and personal way. Families request the exact items they need to rebuild their lives, and donors pay for those items on their behalf. We currently provide support to refugee families in Greece, and have delivered COVID-19 relief in LA as well.

Who is Duet? We are a group of 9 students and recent graduates who are building Duet out of the Innovation in Engineering Design for Global Challenges class. We have been operating since March 2019. Since then, we have facilitated over $75,000 in donations and built a donor community of over 500 members.

Duet is currently registered as a nonprofit, and is pending 501(c)(3) status.

The Role Duet is looking for a self-motivated and collaborative graphic designer to help strengthen the visual identity of our unique marketplace approach towards effective philanthropy. You will play a central role in an agile nonprofit organization that is serious about using technology for social good. We are excited to expand our marketing efforts across social media as well as guerrilla marketing strategies.

The expected time commitment is about 10-15 hours per week for 12 weeks this summer.

You will:

  • Create various brand assets for web to strengthen Duet's brand
  • Explore your skills in the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
  • Design infographics to engage social media audiences
  • Manage multiple projects from concept through completion
  • Support team by communicating with them to provide the assets they need efficiently
  • Be an active member of our marketing and design teams, attend weekly team/individual meetings, and coordinate projects with others
  • Represent Duet as an ambassador Qualifications:

This position might be a great fit if:

  • Degree or student coursework in graphic design, digital media/marketing, visual communications, digital design

  • Knowledge of branding, color, typography and layout design, and other graphic design fundamentals

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite

  • Ability to meet deadlines consistently

  • Good communication skills and a willingness to collaborate ideas in a team environment Bonus Points:

  • Illustration

  • Animation

  • Experience with Figma, Builder.io
