Job Description (Teacher's Assistant/Paraprofessional):

Teacher Assistant is directly responsible to specific group assignments.

Responsible for implementation of daily and weekly programs as assigned by NYSED certified teacher for each student in assigned group.

Assist in any clerical work (i.e. daily attendance, requisitions, trip lists, graphing data).

Responsible for carrying out daily schedules as developed and planned.

The Teacher Assistant is responsible for participating in in-service training, CPR, behavior analysis training program and completing one book/quiz per month.

Teacher Assistant instructs students in daily proper hygiene habits.

Assists in accompanying students to medical office, and off grounds medical appointments or other services as needed.

Required education: Associate Degree from accredited college or 48 credits at a 4 year accredited college preferred. Minimum High School Diploma
Required experience (if applicable): Experience with the developmentally disabled a plus.

Required license or certification (if applicable):
Current NYSED Teacher Assistant Certification or Certification obtained within 3 months of employment.
