Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language and/or swallowing impairments.

  • Perform objective swallow evaluations.

  • Recommend least restrictive safe diet consistencies to maximize patient nutrition.

  • Patient population includes cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary and medical-surgical patient.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and set goals for patients diagnosed as needing speech and language / feeding/swallowing interventions. Re-evaluate and modify treatment programs as warranted.

  • Areas addressed include articulation, voice, fluency, receptive and expressive language skills, oral motor competence and dysphagia.

  • Accurate documentation for all patient visits in EMR

  • Educate patient and family members

  • Work with interdisciplinary team for plan of care

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • New York State license and registration in Speech-Language Pathology required.

  • BLS certification through American Heart Association required.

  • MBS (Modified Barium Swallow) experience/ competency preferred.

  • Healthcare experience is required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to comply with all regulatory standards.

Salary Range

USD $64.55 - USD $64.55 /Hr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive , differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
