Diesel Mechanic – Job Description
Essel is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related systems in a variety of vehicles and equipment. A strong understanding of diesel technology, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines as well as other mechanical components.

Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, ignition systems, transmissions, and electrical components.

Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and general vehicle overhaul.

Maintain and update service records for vehicles and equipment.
-
Replace or repair defective parts and components, ensuring quality standards are met.
-
Respond promptly to service requests and work effectively in a team setting to complete repairs in a timely manner.

Ensure that all work areas are clean and safe in accordance with company policies and safety standards.

Keep abreast of the latest technology in diesel mechanics and attend training as required.
Requirements
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a diesel mechanic program or certification is preferred.

At least 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.

Proficient in the maintenance and repair of diesel engines and their components.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
