Residential Counselor-On-Call

Location: Elmont | Schedule: Per-Diem up to 19 hours | Status: Non-Exempt |Salary: $20.35/hour

The Opportunity

FCA is seeking Residential Counselors for our 24-hour supervised community residence for adults over age 18 who suffer from persistent mental illness. The residential program assists its residents with learning the skills necessary to move on to a more independent living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling and supervision to residents and assist them in the development and implementation of their service plan.

  • Oversee recreational program and outings.

  • Supervise residents with daily activities

  • Complete required paperwork accurately and thoroughly and submit by the required deadline.

  • Ensure the Medication Management and Training procedures are properly followed.

  • Coordinate residents' care with outside agencies by establishing and maintaining open communication in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Transport residents to and from appointments and recreational activities as needed.

  • Perform bed checks and morning wake-ups when needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required

6 months-1 year of experience required

Valid Driver's License required
