FAST Labs defines the next generation of technology across BAE Systems Electronic Systems (ES) sector.

Internal to FAST Labs, the Sensing Technologies (ST) Product Line is seeking a Program Engineering Manager to support programs across the Tech Areas. The ST product line develops next-generation lasers, precision optical pointers, advanced seekers, and expendables. ST has established itself as a market leader in the development of EO/IR and RF technologies. Due to the varying sizes of R&D programs, a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) may be required to oversee multiple R&D efforts in the different Tech Areas. The following is a breakdown of responsibilities for the PEM role within ST

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as engineering focal point for all activity within the projects including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, engineering strategy and integrated plans on programs, engineering staffing, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management

  • Project execution leadership to technical team; plan, execute, and manage all engineering efforts within the project. This includes tailoring company processes and procedure to execute research programs

  • Partner and collaborate with program managers, functional engineering managers, subcontractors, and customers, and factories to ensure program goals, requirements, and needs are understood and achieved

  • Monitor project plans and execution to ensure technical and work scope requirements, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained

  • Effectively communicate with clear, concise messaging to teams and leadership

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or similar field

  • Active DoW Secret clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI and SAP clearances

  • Typically, 10 years experience in engineering, operations, management or related fields

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small multi-discipline teams on software focused programs

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s Degree in Engineering or similar field

  • Experience/familiarity with one of the following topics:

  • RF/Digital Signal Processing

  • Electronic Warfare, Electronic Attack, and Electronic Support Measures

  • Cyber vulnerability research and reverse engineering

  • Experience leading research and development programs with a larger multi-discipline team (including subcontractors) across multiple sites

  • Experience in bidding and winning new business

  • Ability to communicate technical project performance with leadership

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
