Job overview

Foresight Energy is hiring an Electrician (Mach). The Electrician (Mach) will be responsible for reviewing and understanding permissibility requirements, performing proper splicing and troubleshooting techniques for underground cables, and servicing all face equipment to fit in the mining cycle. This role involves reading electrical prints, maintaining CO monitors and communications, and troubleshooting and installing leaky feeder and fiber optic cables. The Electrician will also perform fire suppression testing and change major components on all equipment.

Key focus areas include Review and understand permissibility requirements, Perform proper splicing and troubleshooting techniques for underground cables, and Service all face equipment to fit in mining cycle.

Successful candidates bring 2+ Years Underground Experience, MSHA Certified Electrical Card, and Illinois Electrical Certificate. Preferred (not required): Maintenance, Mechanical Troubleshooting, Hydraulic Troubleshooting, and Electrical Troubleshooting.

Full job description

Experience in a wide range of maintenance preferred. Preventative maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic, & electrical troubleshooting.

JOB TITLE DEFINITION:

  • Review & understand permissibility requirements

  • Proper splicing & troubleshooting techniques for underground cables

  • Service all face equipment to fit in mining cycle

  • Read electrical prints for equipment

  • Perform chain & crawler maintenance

  • Proper cribbing and blocking techniques

  • Operate all face equipment

  • Maintain CO monitor & communications

  • Troubleshoot & install leaky feeder & fiber optic cables

  • Fire suppression testing

  • Downshift – change major components on all equipment

  • Understand and service longwall mining equipment

  • Understand basics around CAT CST system

  • Fix sensors on shield electrics & troubleshoot electrics

  • Grease all appropriate components

  • Understand the tailgate tension cylinder and correct operation

  • Change backflush filter and water pump filters

  • 2+ years of underground experience

  • MSHA Certified Electrical Card holder & Illinois Electrical Certificate

Compensation at an attractive hourly rate of $36.23.
